- Bathukamma Festival: This festival is dedicated to Goddess Durga. Bathukamma is a state festival that is usually celebrated in September and October. Women arrange a stack of flowers signifying the holy gopuram. They circle it and sing songs. The festival ends with the immersion of the stack or Bathukamma in a water body.
- Bonalu: Bonalu is another popular festival in Telangana, especially in Hyderabad and Secunderabad. It is held in July or August. The Bonalu festival involves the worshipping of Goddess Mahakali. Women prepare a meal of rice, jaggery, and milk and offer it to the Goddess. It can be viewed as a thanksgiving festival.
- Ganesh Chaturthi: Ganesh Chaturthi is widely celebrated in Telangana’s twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. Ganesh idol can be seen in pandals on the streets. People belonging to different communities come together to celebrate this festival. The festival ends with the immersion of Ganesh idols in a water body.
- Ramzan: People belonging to Telangana’s Muslim community celebrate Eid-ul Fitr, which comes at the end of the holy month of Ramzan.
